Excellent page! Outstanding. I'm more of a guitar player but can play some keys. Been collection various MIDI modules (Quadraverb, SR-16, TX81z, FB-01). I also have a good Win95 PC with MIDI interface & Cakewalk but lack the final key ingredient: a good controller/synth. I almost always buy used stuff to minimize inital cost/depreciation just in case I decide to bail out. I've always liked the M1 (a real safe bet) but also have also liked Alesis products too (obviously, since I have a couple already). I've been intrigued with the Quadrasynth ever since it came out. Now that used prices are shaping up, it is even more attractive. Your page fuels that fire. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much. Again, an outstanding page!

Great page! I noticed the QS6 instrument definition file now downloads. I'm developing patches for the QS6 (for my own amusement) but I used to do this for a living so when I get enough patches worth downloading I'll do so if you want 'em. I read your ascessment about the QS6 and agree. Frankly, I was going to buy a Quadrasynth Piano Plus when I tinkered with the QS6. I liked the sounds better on the QS6, perhaps a good flame topic :-) It came down to interface, fantastic piano, and extra samples vs a sound I liked. It was a very difficult decision. But I love this thing. It has many limitations but it's so much fun to program. BTW, the CD ROM came with SoundBridge 1. Is SoundBridge2 even out? TIA.

I've got an S4+ for some weeks now and I've set up an ALESIS section in my midi FTP/HTTP site in Greece. The one and only midi file I'm hosting right now is the Night on the Bald Mountain of Mussorgsky transcribed for the S4+. The URL is http://edessa.topo.auth.gr/pub/midi/alesis/ I'm also hosting a variety of wav files from Peavey to be uploaded on a Flash-RAM card and used as samples. Also, try http://edessa.topo.auth.gr/~root/ for a small description of the Alesis S4+.

I have just spent my first week with the QS S4+ and noticed a lot ringing in the ears after playing with the piano samples. Despite low volume and some velocity adjustments, I still find the harmonics through headphones very uncomfortable, Anyone else notice this? I am used to playing an Ensonics VFX and did not have this problem.

I'm considering buying the Alesis Quadrasynth plus. Send me any info on the ease of use (ie, menu structure, new sample looping) because I'm also considering the Kertzweil K2500 - I know it's more money but it also offers DSP features such as frequency shifting the samples without an impact on time space (ie, a chord of "hello"s).

Congratulation! Very complete work!
The QS is great, isn't it?!
If you are interested in what I did with it, try and search out the first album of my band, the "EVIL WINGS".
We make a kind of prog-metal. If you want it you can ask it to me.
Keep cool!

Alesis's QS web page must be setting a record for "longest time under construction with no progress" and for "slowest loading page with <1kb content." ;-)

I bought a used S4. Very little understanding of it. This page is phenomenal for helping get my arms around it. Great to have access to an Editor/Librarian. Mega thanks to the author. Keep up the good work!!!!

Love the Quadrasynth and Quadraverb GT. Recently had my QS4 board upgraded to a level "S9" for a fee of $400. I don't see the S9 referenced in any of these pages. Is there really such a thing, or did my dealer take me for an extra $100 ride and give me the S8 upgrade?

I have a QS6, and am pretty knocked out with it. I would like some info on Samplecell stuff as the info here in the U.K is pretty sketchy.
