: does anyone know where i can find the midi of nocturne by brown? i don't know his full name. i just got it from my piano teacher and i really want to get a good idea on how it sounds. thanks.
I don't know of any Brown who wrote Nocturnes. This is a guess, but could the composer actually be Chopin? Some of his works are catalogued according to the "Brown Index" (BI) - posthumously published works to which the composer himself didn't give Opus numbers.
This site:

lists three such Nocturnes, BI 19, 49 and 53, and there are MIDIs there, so you could see if it's one of them. MIDIs of two of the posthumous Nocturnes have also been posted here at CMC, so you could try your luck:

Other than that, there's a Hollis Brown, violinist and composer with the rock band Ozone, one of whose albums is called Nocturne, but that doesn't sound very likely...
