: Hi there, can some one please tell me how to get the sounds from my korg 01/wfd synth into the cakewalk pro 9 for recording using the midi interface? I'm using a sound blaster live! value card and got a midi cable. So far I'm only able to get sounds from the soundcard's synth but not the korg. Please help, I'm still new to this. Thanks!
MIDI will not transmit actual sounds. You need an audio interface. The SoundBlaster card can be used for audio input, so check what type of
connector(s) it has for LINE IN, and get a cable that fits the card's LINE IN and the keyboard's AUDIO OUT. You can probably find on at your local Radio Shack.
