How to fix corrupt .WRK file?

I am unable to open a Cakewalk WRK file that I created a while back. All I get is an "Unable to open file error". Is anyone aware of a tool that will fix or at least extract some of the data out of a Cakewalk WRK file? Or does anyone know the file format so I could write a program to get the data out? Or a WRK-to-MIDI converter?
