How to improve my MIDI sound?

I'm using my notebook for music notation (see www.Mozart.co.uk), and the MIDI sound resulting from it is quite poor: Is there any software soluiton to improve my sound? (no hardware, I'm not a profesional and need low cost - or free - soluiton)
