Hi Clayton, Is the Alesis Datadisk an SQ model? The SQ ca send/play sequences. The earlier models cannot. The SQ option is displayed when it first boots up. Any of the Datadisk units can send sysex for patches. The PSR should accept these dumps. The only hang up should be the memory protect in the PSR make sure it is off. Contact me at Narfman96 at yahoo dot com if you need more info.
P.S. I'm looking for the Datadisk SQ firmware to upgrade my older unit so it can do midi sequences. Alesis doesn't have the upgrade. Can anyone help me??? Does anyone have an SQ that they will part with?
: I have a Yamaha PSR500 that I use as a songwriting tool. I recently purchased an Alesis DataDisk on ebay to store song files. I have been able to send files to the Alesis using the PSR500 Bulk Dump feature but don't seem to be able to restore them for playback on the Yamaha. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
