Hummel has composed 24Etudes,Opus125 and 24Preludes,Opus67. Also,THE PIANO METHOD which Hummel published in 1828 has strong influence through the 18th century. The content : the finger ways from a thing such as the trill style of rendering and the pedal style of rendering. And, he widely refers to a thing such as a mental attitude from a method of instruction to a piano learning man. In being surprised the books contain about 2,200 music examples. Short pieces which I introduce here contain a musical piece of all types from a thing for a beginner's to a thing for the higher man. Sixty Practice Pieces from the Piano Method (1828) 1) Method No.1 to 20 2) Method No.21 to 30 3) Method No.31 to 40 4) Method No.41 to 50 5) Method No.51 to 60 Sub.title: Method No.5-Air Russe Method No.40-Gigue Method No.51-Rondo Method No.52-March Method No.53-Polacca Miscellaneous Pieces from the Piano Method(1828) 3 pieces are non stop. (Mikio Tao) Note: The Piano method was a monumental project that occupied Hummel for some five years. Published simultaneously in England,France, and Austria,it apparentry sold out on the first day,at least in German speaking Europe, despite its high cost. Most of its hundreds of pages contist of exercises, but Hummel also included works by other composers, including the great C-sharp minor fugue from the Well Tempered Clavier,Book1,the performance of which he comsidered the ultimate aim of any fine musician. He also wrote Sixty "Exercise Pieces" of progressing difficulty. Together with several larger exercises in grace notes, these pieces form the body of the true compositions in the Piano Method.
