Alesis QS6.1 Drum Loops, and saving Programs

I just bought a new QS6.1 for $400. Perhaps Mars Music is anticipating support problems due to Alesis being acquired by Numark, as Mars' cost was $569. I'm still reading the manual, but I can't find how to play the 90 different drum loops that the manual says are available. There are a few accessible from the Mix mode, but I'm wondering if there is a bank of drum loops/rhythm patters that I can jam along with. My second question is about downloading new instrument Programs and saving them to the User bank. I see that user recommend that you back up your factory Programs. Where? on your PC's hard drive? Or must you have a PCMCIA card? If you save a new Program, does it overwrite the factory user Program in that location? What if you want the factory sound back? Is that why they are included on the supplied CD? Do you have to have the serial cable to interface to your PC, or can you also talk to your PC via the (admittedly slower) MIDI port for saving and re-loading Programs and Mixes. I'm hoping to find these answers in the manual, but so fat I haven't had the time to get into it in depth, and perhaps one of you would be kind enough to give me a summary.
