How are you using the original serial cable with a PC? I have the original cable and the end that goes to the PC is a round 8 pin (no such connection on my PC). I called around (MicroCenter, Best Buy, etc.) and nobody seems to have an adapter that will make it work. Belkin suggested that I buy a completely new cable (25 pin to 9 pin serial), but the Miracle Piano has a warning on the back to only use their cable. Any advise you could give me is greatly appreciated.
: Filter capacitors may be failing (hummm) - the wall wart puts out 12V AC and it will be rectumfried and filtered in the keyboard. Capacitors tend to go first.
: If you don't mind attacking things with a soldering iron, you might look for electrolytic capacitors around where the power cord attaches - if any of them look like they've leaked or split, replace them.
: Are you trying to use the old serial cable with XP? Mine works fine (with different software) with MIDI cables.
