: Hi!
: I am using a Godin guitar wich have a 13 pin midi output and recently I bought a yamaha PX81z
: synth wich have a 5 pin input. How can convert my 13 pin outut to a 5 pin input?
: What is the best solution?

The 13-pin connector was made for the Roland GR-Series guitar synths, and it's unlikely that it would
work with anything else. Once you have the Roland GR synth, you can connect other synths to it,
but not directly to the guitar.
Guitar MIDI is a bit more complicated than keyboard MIDI. Keyboards have built-in trigger switches
for all keys, so it's pretty simple. Guitars need special pickups (which is what you have) and also
a converter box to convert pitch to MIDI. You need one of these Roland converter boxes, some
of which come with built-in synth modules. They sound pretty good, so you might want to
pick one up on ebay (they can be pretty expensive new).
