This is the sort of most basic stuff that is covered
in the manuals...yet I still can't get it to work.
Pathetic, I know, but...
I'm trying to run Cakewalk Pro Audio 5.0 under
Win95 with a QS-7 and using a SB16 as a midi
interface. I have the QS in mix mode with a mix
consisting of all 16 channels (I'm wanting to
set each channel's patch thru cakewalk), My
QS-7 is set to normal mode (although I've tried
all variations). I'm getting NO midi in response
whatsoever-- the patches don't change and
nothing records. Yet when I use cakewalk's
virtual piano everything works fine-- it plays whatever
patch on the QS I've designated in cakewalk and
records. I'm ASSuming this rules out IRQ conflicts
and the like. Yet even though the virtual piano
plays selected patches, if I try to use the keyboard
on the QS I get the same sound every time-- no
matter what is selected in cakewalk (yes, I'm using
the QS-7 instrument definition).
If anyone could help I'd really, really appreciate it.
Don't be afraid to get really basic and describe
things as though I were an idiot :)
