Thanks Mike. You're a life saver. I was going to erase the whole thing and start over.
: This is an SRAM card for storing patches, etc. correct? I believe many of these cards use a battery for their power, and it's possible the battery might be low or drained.
: Check the cards battery, and/or the battery contacts on the card as they may be dirty and need cleaning.
: If the problem is intermittent, in all likelyhood a bad connection exists between the card and card slot in your Alesis instrument. These are the things I would suspect first. If you were able to recreate the problem on another instrument, I suspect there is a battery problem with the card, and the card is not getting enough power to operate correctly.
: : I am playing for a musical. I have stored all the programs and mixes I need
: : for the show to a bank on a RAM 512 card (without the use of additional
: : software). This has worked fine for about a month and a half. A couple of
: : days ago the display was showing gibberish or "cursing" rather than some
: : of the sounds that I saved. Sometimes it "curses" sometimes it's fine. Does
: : anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I have borrowed a loaner
: : keyboard, hoping that would solve the problem, it did, sort of although it
: : did it briefly again, which leads me to believe that it is something with the
: : card. The show opened last night and I'm still having problems. HELP!!
