Most soundcards have a built in midi interface, which is accessed thru this cable. Basically the joystick and the midi interface are bundled in one connector, and you need this cable to split the signal.
So this will let you 'record' the midi information.
To record the audio from the qs and the roland you'll have to plug the signal individually into the line in of the soundcard. If you want to record it simultaneoulsy you'll need a mixer.
