Well the bass thing is merely a hypothesis - I know it sounds better to my ears through the light
pipe and the sound card, and maybe it is just the extra bits - I just find it hard to believe I could
hear that small a difference. Maybe the sound card is adding a little "warming" distortion!
Without sticking some measuring gear on it, which I have not done, I cannot be sure.

: Thanks a lot. Didn't know about the bit thing or the bass roll-off. So you hook straight to the card from the synth. Cool. I'm getting an RME 96/8 PST card which has the ADAT optical in. Didn't know what it was when I bought this synth but glad I've got it now. Frees up some mixer channels.
