For less than that price you can buy a used one and strip it for parts, or using it and keep yours for spares in the future. I'm selling my qs6 and I'm hoping to get less than that for it :) geez...
I have heard of problems with the main board getting cooked, it's rare but has happened.
2 years ago the display was around $30. It may be worth just changing that. I have a feeling, though, that unless the display is shorting something, you should still be able to play the keyboard, you just wouldn't be able to see what you are doing.
My suggestion is to see how much they charge only for the board. I opened up my qs once, and it looked like everything was connected to the keyboard with connectors, not soldered, so you may be able to replace this yourself.
