Certain events seem to send crud down the serial cable that the QS recognizes as a pitch bend. It happens for me when I launch or quit Cubasis and sometimes when I reboot Win 95. You can fix it by reselecting a patch or maybe by touching the pitch bend wheel if it is sending on the goofed up channel.

(ps you didn't say you are using win95 and serial driver, that's just a not-so-wild guess on my part)
