: I am thinking about to buying a synthsizer and my mid was seted between Korg N5 and Alesis Qs6.1. So which one is better overall? What about in terms of sound, features, function, quality?
I was tossing up between a QS6 and an N5 a few months ago and went with the QS6. IMHO the QS6 has better rhythm/precussion sounds, slightly better pianos, better brass and synth sounds and generally a more useable sound set. Plus it is upgradeable (with the Q-Cards). The Korg has more impractical "over-the-top" sounds, but better strings and choirs. The Alesis has far better FX capabilities.
At the end of the day, the ability to add new sounds via the Q-Cards was an important swing factor for me. But spend time checking them both out. Whichever one you like the sound of better is the one you should get.
