this answer seems pretty obvious, so please don't feel insulted if it's not this simple;-)
Each mix accesses several programs, either fixed presets or in user memory.
The factory-installed mixes in user-memory use BOTH.
So if you have edited and stored programs (and overwritten the previous prog in the place) some mix, which is using this prog, will sound warped.
Another, completely different reason could be that you accidentally hit the STORE-button (don't laugh, I did it. I just put my folder with the songs on it)
