: Thanks Shawn. Let's see if I have this straight:
: I hook up the keyboard to the computer with the
: serial cable and program the sequence with
: Cubasis. Then, when I am done, I hit play on the
: software which sends the MIDI data back to the
: keyboard on the serial cable. At the same time,
: the keyboard "plays" the sequence and sends the
: actual sounds out to the 880 through the regular
: right-left audio outputs. If I have it right,
: thanks again. If I am still a bit off, please
: let me know. By the way, I might need some more
: info synching up the sequences to the tempo
: clock on the VS-880 in the future (to match bpm's
: etc.).

That should get you started. There is a demo of a program on the alesis cd that helps with drum programming as well.If it does not,do a search on the net for music shareware. There is a big site(might be called www.musicshareware.com)that has some other neat programs for making sequences, drum beats, samples etc.
You also asked about needing a sound card for saving sequences. No you don't.They will be saved in the computer. If you want however you can burn them to a blank flash Ram card using the Soundbridge software that is also on the Alesis cd.This will allow you to play back sequences live from your keyboard without the computer.
Hope that helps.
Shawn
