: My wife plays a few rare Indian instruments that she'd like on the keyboard. Therefore an important feature would be the ability to bring in sounds of new instruments into the keyboard,
: Is the QS6.1 ready with all the needed equipment to bring the new instruments in, or will I need to buy additional equipment.

You can make your own samples for the QS. You will need:
- The SoundBridge utility, free from Alesis.com
- The optional serial cable from Alesis or a dealer ($17.99 + $10 shipping from Alesis), or maybe just MIDI cables attached to your PC or MAC MIDI interface (I've never tried using the MIDI interface with SoundBridge).
- A Flash RAM card. See the SoundBridge page here for sources. Mine cost about $110 for an 8Meg card. I got a second one used for $65.
You will also need some software to edit your samples and set "loop points." See the Tips and Tricks on the SoundBridge page for some really good QS sampling info.
