You can download the User Bank patches from the Alesis site or from the Sounds page on this site. You do not need the CD ROM.

If the patches you want to load do not fill a complete bank, you may have to use one of the editor/librarian programs described on programs page of this site to create a complete bank for loading. I have never been able to load anything less that a full bank of patches using the Freeloader sysex utility. (Maybe someone else knows how to do this and can explain it to you). I suggest that you substitute the piano sounds you are interested in for patches on the User Bank that you do not like and will never use.

What have you heard about a new piano card? I notice that Alesis has pulled its old grand piano Q-card from its website, presumably because it just rehashes whats already on the QS 6.1,7.1 and 8.1.

What is it that you are trying to do with the SBLive/QS combination? If you are talking aout loading sounds into your QS, you will need a FlashRAM card, and the samples probably should be at 48Khz to avoid detuning problems. The new EMU Emulator does have a 48Khz output option, but I don't know what the sample rate is on SBLive Soundfonts.
