Whenever you use a mix setting on your QS, all of the programs on the mix are processed through a single effects set up. It may or may not be the one normally associated with a particular program in the mix. You cannot select diffent effects to apply to each program in your mix--you can only tell the QS to apply the effects or not, and (if I remember correctly) how much to allow the effect to impact each program. You can select what effects will apply to your whole mix and by experimenting with this you will hopefully get a better overall sound. Unfortunately, I don't have my QS or my manual handy at the moment, so I can't give you the details. However, there are many postings dealing with this issue and how to "fix" it on this site.

: Thank you, this was very helpful, it got rid of my echoing problem. However I have encountered a few other problems. For one, when I play back the recording nearly everytime at least a few notes stick. Also, the programs I record into cakewalk lack quite a bit in comparison to the program if I was just playing in program mode. Let me clarify that a bit. For example the grit organ is obviously lacking when I play and record it through mix mode rather than just playing it in program mode. The piano seems to have no reverb when I play it through mix mode....this kind of thing. If you (or anybody else) could provide any help with this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help so far.
