: Has anyone compared the QS-8 with the Roland RD-600 ?
I have sort of a mini review on my web site (www.best.com/~sams/alesis) but I'll summarize:
If you get my improved piano patches for the QS-8, I think the QS holds its own against the RD-600 for piano sounds, and in some ways betters it slightly. By the way, I like the Roland very well and don't like most digital pianos. Before I programmed my patches, I was vaguely dissatisfied with the QS for classical piano. These instruments have very different key feels; the QS is very fast and light, and the Roland is more heavy and piano-realistic.
In my book the QS wins all the way around, but if the RD feature set matches your needs you can't really go wrong with that one either.
