When you are editing a patch in Unisyn, you are just modifying the patch edit buffer. If you select another patch, it will overwrite the patch edit buffer. So when you get a sound in the edit buffer just as you like for now, there are 3 things you might consider doing:
1) Storing the patch back to its bank (ctrl-u)
2) Saving the bank (select the bank window and type ctrl-s) This saves the bank as a unisyn file, but the sound is not yet saved on the synth.
3) Write the bank to the synth, under the Midi menu. This stores the currently selected bank to the synth's user bank.
