learn software sequencing if you go the PC route. your synth should have come with Micrologic, and it's fairly easy way to record sequences (similar to the demos on the synth), and ultimately achieve exactly what you're trying to do, layer instruments.

: : My wife is a really accomplished pianist, and I bought her a QS8.1, monitors and amp. She's having a blast with it, but I'm not getting along with the manual, and we appear to have exhausted the instrument store's info upon purchase. My question: What do you do to record separate tracks, for example, an organ, a piano and strings? I see there is a direct connect to a PC, but I also saw a reference to a "mixer" being a better way to go and cheaper. But, I would guess these are big files, and surely they would not be stored in the mixer. Ultimately, a composition could be transferred to CD, which of course would require a PC connection anyway. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

: : (I have an old Pentium 100mz in a closet, with 16mb ram and a 500mb disc -I'm guessing a more current PC would be required if a PC is to be used.)
