: Hey, I'm looking to buy my first synth and have been looking at buying a QS6 (since they can be found fairly inexpensive). However, I have noticed that aside from a few "ease of use" features, the main difference b/t the QS6 and the other QS syth's is that it only has 8MB ROM, whereas the others have 16MB. My question is this, does that mean the preset sounds have been compressed to take up less space? And if so, how much does this affect their quality. I would appreciate any help you could give to a new-comer. Thanks.
No, it means there is less data-fewer samples in ROM. The original QS6 has some other differences as well such as a smaller LCD,only 2 sliders(4 on 6.1) one card slot.
