It means you are overdriving the output - you may have to tweak individual levels in the patch to get rid of it
: I noticed that when I play program 44: Schmedrick of the synth Expando Bank there appears an exclamation mark ( ! ) to the side of the Bank name ( CardB-4 ! in my QS7 ). It dissapears when I don't press the keys.
