If you use windows XP you can connect to you computer via MIDI ( USB or Joystick port ) but if you are referring to the Alesis serial driver ( excellent for transferring image files to flash cards in half the time Midi can do it ) the Alesis site says that you can look for a compatible Edirol driver:
"The driver SC-8820 version 3.2 serial driver is compatible with our units. "
and here is the address:
http://www.edirol.com/support/drivers.html
Hope this helps you.
: This seems very weird to me. A big company like Alesis can't put together a simple Windows XP driver for their most popular synthesizers ever, the QS series! I am a music teacher at a college and we have 15 QS synths (8, 8.2 and 7s). Now, Since we upgraded our computers, we can't change banks or select patches via MIDI anymore. And Alesis just doesn't care... they got our money... now forget the support. So what do you think about this company... do they suck, or what?
