ADAT optical --> S/PDIF optical?

OK, is it possible to hook up QS-7 Synth with the optical digital output, which I guess is an ADAT optical output, into a digital recorder with a S/PDIF optical input - directly?

When you look at both connections, they look exactly the same! Anyway, if this is possible, would you use an ADAT optical cable to connect the 2 units directly OR a S/PDIF optical cable?

If not...what do I need to record the synth digitally straight into the recorder using the optical connectors??

By the way...the recorder also has S/PDIF coaxial I/O's as well as the optical I/O's.
