: Situation:
: When I select say, "MIX USER 03 - SilverDrop" which has 3 MIDI channels; Then record/play a song into Cakewalk, ONLY the first channel (PRESET2 097 -- PatchCords) is recorded/played-back. However, if I copy the "Take" to 2 additional channels/tracks AND manually change the "Chn" in Cakewalk from "-" to 1,2 and 3 respectively do I hear the mix correctly.
: Question:
: Can this be done automatically ? From what I understand about the Alesis QS8 & Cakewalk this can be done but I can't seem to do it. I've tried "Settings/Channel Table
" in Cakewalk and many permutations of the QS8 Global Settings options.
: Many Mahalo's (Hawaiin for "thanks") to anyone who can assist !
: Current Configuration:
: Alesis QS8 with Serial Port Driver 3.04 (2/6/99) on Windows98
: Cakewalk Pro Audio 6.01
: Alesis QS8 settings:
: KBD MODE: Normal
: General MIDI: OFF
: MIDI PRG SEL: ON
: MIDI Out: THRU
In my setup, I have only the serial port connected, and have the KBD mode set to Out 1. This should fix the problem. It might be a good idea to send a sysex message giving your mix bank data. I'm kind of fuzzy on sysex, so hopefully someone will help you out there (and me too!) :)
