If Drasch's suggestions didn't work, you probably brought the wrong pedal. There are two types, one with a normally open switch, and normally closed. Some of the more modern pedals can actually 'adapt' but it doesn't look that's your case. I have a K1 myself with the manual (and a pedal that works) if you need more info email me.
