The QuadraSynth Guestbook
Thank you for visiting The QuadraSynth Page.
I just bought a QS6- very happy, however they were sold out
so they had to give me the floor model to play with while
they get more. The usability of the thing is starting bother me
I can't get it to do any midi either.

Hi
I got a QS8 about two weeks ago and just love it. However
I did't receive the CD Rom software yet. Any guess how long
of a wait I have ?. I understand Cubase Light come with the
package. Does it come with a QS8 patch list ? Like I said I
like it very much and am anxious to make sequences with it.
Bye for now.....Mike Reiter

When I first got my QS+ I sat down and read the manual from the beginning.
Unfortunately, it was not until I hit the Appendix that I realized much (but not all?)
of everything I had been reading so carefully was irrelevant. The confusion is
still with me. Would you experts put a FAQ for the first-time keyboard player?
I can handle the ssetup with my computer and software but the keyboard itself
has deep mysterious areas not yet explored by novices such as myself.
Thanks!

This is awesome, especially for some one like me who doesn't,

product. A useful addition might be a listing of Alesis
Dealers, cuz I'm having a hard time finding one.

I HAVE A QS7 AND I AM STILL IN THE PROCESS OF LEARNING HOW
TO EDIT SOUNDS AND MIXES. ALSO FOR SOME REASON I AM NOT ABLE
TO USE MY PAIA STUDIO MIDI INTERFACE WITH THE QS7. THE PAIA
UNIT WORKS FINE WITH OTHER KEYBOARDS OR CONTROLLERS BUT WHEN
I TRY IT WITH THE QS7 MIDI NOTES ARE NOT TRANSMITTED, EVERY
NOTE I PLAY ON THE KEYBOARD IS INTERPRETED AS A PATCH CHANGE
BY THE MIDI INTERFACE.

I just bought a brand new QS7 for use in my band, Rodeo Clowns. We
are a new country dance band working in MA and NH. I decided on the
QS7 for it's sounds, it's user interface (very easy to switch patches in
realtime), and it's 'net/Web based software support. There are a lot of
other things I like about it too, and I'm sure I'll only grow more satisfied as
I learn my way around it.
BTW, Thanks for this excellent web page. Alesis should hire you! This
web site is better than the vast majority of "official" corporate sites of other
music hardware manufacturers. I, for one, appreciate it!

Terrific site. I bought the qs+ as a performance instrument and sound module for my Finale based sequences and scores. It fulfills both tasks well at a price ($869) that can't be beat. I prefer to buy one generation back from state of the art...it's much less expensive and you get 95% of what is leading edge. In fact, I am not convinced that the 16 meg of rom in the qs7 is superior to the 24 meg in the qs+.

I love my Quadra Synth however, I having trouble trying to understand how to seperate my sounds in the studio. I don't know how to save mixes and
if theres any information on how to save I would appreciate it. I get lucky sometimes and I'm able to seperate for example putting the bass on ch 5, and sending it to aux <3, but I don't know
how to save this so I can dump later into the recording studio. Hope I'm making since. It's costing me a lot of money so I would like to know for example how to save 16 chanel mixes inorder to
do a fast dump in the studio. Please help me with this.

Hi!
Great page for QS users. I bought a QS8 for a synth lab
I am running at a school. A lot of bang for the buck,
but a few limitations. It would be nice to be able to
dump the preset banks to midi for an editor lib or at least
be able to copy a bank to the user presets. Do I really have
to transfer one patch at a time to the user locations?
AArgh.

Wow - What a great Web Page!!!!! I've owned the QS4 for about a year now and just found this page today. Hat's off to LES and MATT for a great job!
I'm another one of those home studio wanabee's who has to fight for time to get into the studio! Look forward to possibly meeting other QS4 users. I also write software for a living and may be inserested in learing the specific MIDI sysex formats of the QS4.

I just got my QS+Piano for under $900, so I recommend you
update the spec sheet! I use it with the Unisyn Patch Editor/
Librarian, which is a big help when creating new patches. My
biggest gripe is simply that I can't download the preset banks
to my editor. I can only download the user bank. Otherwise, it
is a tremendous addition to my studio. When I get some new
interesting patches, I will post them here. Thanks for maintaining
this site.

I recently purchased a QS-7. I love it. I really like many, many of the sounds.
And I really like having 4 slider/controllers. But when I got it home, it didn't work.
It seemed brain dead, only emitting weird little gurgling sounds. The next day the store where I had purchased it told me about re-initializing, and that worked. It's been fine since. So... see p. 86 of the manual about re-initializing if your QS-7 (or 8) gets weird on you.

Hi, guys
Quadrasynth's resources are also unlimited and I learned that tech assistance is very good.
May we expect that same sort of thing may happen with its newest brothers, the SQ7 and SQ8 ?
Another thing that intrigues me is if quadrasynth is a so good sinth why its manufacturing has been discontinued ?
I "ll be glad if some comments arrive in my box.
Thanks,

hot dog...just got a QSplus piano for 850 bucks from SAM ASH...brand new! goes great with my DM5.
I write techno, trance, rave songs:
Just redid my whole system! I use Cakewalk Pro Audio, Sound Forge, Card D + digital, Mackie 1604 vlz, tons of sample cd's from East West, and from Alesis : QS+piano, Dm5, Monitor one, ra-100, 3630, Q2, and Adat on the way. I dig alesis...QS+piano very kool sounds, hot pianos for dance tracks, THE BIG BUT though .....I find the MIX mode user unfriendly the way it handles effects..still I give the QS+ thumbs up.
Keep an Eye Out for my "live" band ... Funky Monks, we have a few deal offers from some small indie labels. The music is close to 311, and Rage meet the Beastie Boys! We hit the Philly and NYC scene about 4-5 gigs a month!

I have always been a fan of Alesis equipment, starting with my HR-16. Tell me where I can demo the QS8. After reading about it, I'm planning to buy it, but would like to play it, and would also like info on software and $$$. Thanks.

I have a QuadraSynth Plus Piano and wondered if someone whohas the Pop/Rock card could tell me if they think the 60's and 70's keyboard sounds on it are a great complement to the sounds on the Quadra? How about guitars? Is the card worththe money?

I'll be buying a QS7 in a few days, and I'm extremely excited... I haven't had the chance to noodle around with the editing features, really, and I hope the modulation matrix is as powerful as it sounds. Those ELP synths are absolutely KILLER! Just one question, though - can samples be imported via MIDI Sample Dump or is SoundBridge required?

Thanks for message on Compuserve MIDIFORUM. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.I've been messing with MIDI since 1985(!!!) but with Yamaha gear.It was somewhat frustrating because if you wanted to hear my efforts you had to come to my house!I'm new to the Web (as you probably guessed). It great that people all over the world can play your music now.Soon be getting into XG.Shall let know when I have original stuff ready for worldwide consumption.BTW Birdland sounded great - but some of the others didn't start.Hiran
