I have a QS6.1 and Cakewalk PA 8.0 I don't mean to but in, but the ins instrument definition fil is a file you load into your sequencer software in your PC to make it easier for you to see the 'correct' names of your sounds corresponding with your Alesis. So if you're writing or editing a sequence on your PC and you decide that 'Stereo Piano' for instance, is the sound you want, you will see that name in Cakewalk that 'matches your particular keyboard. If you don't use this, your "stereo piano" sound on your Alesis might be called "funky banjo" in your software.
