The setup Rod describes is certainly adequate - I have an RA100 and Event 20/20s at home - the
larger amp is for gigging . Its really too much power for home - you end up running turned
almost all the way down and a slightest tweek of the volume control and you eject unsuspecting
cats into low earth orbit. I assumed you wanted to gig with yours when I suggested the Mackie.

If you can afford to, though, I would avoid the RA100. Mine "hums" and I know other
people with the same problem. Its not coming out of the speakers - its the power supply transformer
vibrating the case (I think). Also, racking it is a problem - you need to ensure adequate
ventilation around those fins, so you can't jam them into a small case (mine is still free
standing). If I had a do-over I would get something which sucked air in through the front.

Speaking of rooms, as Rod was, one problem I ran into was putting the speakers on a
banquet table (you know - those cheap chip board fold up things). They act as a sounding board,
and a very bad sounding one. Imagine a piano made out of chip board!
