Interesting.. mine has been working flawlessly for the past 4 years... knock on wood. I wonder how much the design has changed with the new RA's alesis released last year. BTW, I'm anxious to see what they come out with this year at NAMM, but it seems all their focus is on the Andromeda right now.

I've heard good things about Hafler amps... not sure how much they are.

yeah, same here. Not because of the heat problem, though. I've always felt that my gear is better arranged spread out around the room instead of the all the rack gear in a single column. Like keeping modules directly on top of my master controller and such...
