i'm having a lot of problems with detecting MIDI from my QS7 to my PC. i am running windows 2000 (yes i know this is a problem), but i decided to try using the Roland Serial Driver method. actually the problems seem to be a LITTLE better now that the Roland NT driver has been installed in that Sound Diver no longer crashes, however the QS still is not being detected.

i am using a universal sound card MIDI connector cable which has a joystick connector on one end and MIDI IN and OUT on the other. i figure the problem may be related to the fact that i should've gotten a cable with a joystick connector on one end and to the port connector on the back of the QS... shoudl i be using this kind of cable?

i know that the issue MAY be related to my OS, but is it possible to set up the system using the cable i currently use so that the synth is detected?

sorry, i know there are many different variables at work here, but my computer only has win2k installed...

    Thanks in advance.
