Drums are stored in the rom, both as single samples and as complete kits layed out over the keyboard. A typical drum patch will use both with one 'sound' playing the kit (in key mode) and one set to drum mode. The kits cant be edited much but you can limit the range of the 'sound' to exclude the lower end of the keyboard, and then replace those sounds with some single samples. Or you can build your own drum patch from scratch witout useing any of the kits. Just remeber that the kits are only available in key mode.
