Alright, thanks Mark for the explanation, i'm more clarified. The thing is, i think this Sound Card (ESS Alegro) DOES have a MIDI hardware component, as i read in a online specification sheet.

If this is true, what should i do? Should i try to get the specific midi drivers for this card? Will that do?

Another question i have is: is that MIDI delay constant, or depends on the number of channel and events that you are using at a given time? If that is so, it'll probably be dificult to attain synchronism 'cause the delay is variable.

I'm using CakeWalk 8, how do you introduce a Delay in the audio tracks?

Though, even if you fix that, there's no way of correct the MIDI recording delay, right?
