SB Live, XP and drum tracks

After not using SB Live (original) for a while to create music I find that when midi files are played back (from any app) the drum tracks are filled with seemingly random sounds, along with most of the normal drum sounds. I have upgraded to latest drivers and even non-latest but can't get this problem resolved. I know it's not the soundfonts because they haven't changed. Can't find info on this problem anywhere.

The tracks are assigned to channel 10 and the last time I used my system about 3 months ago, this was all working. Please help!
