: None of the shops that I've been visiting seems to
: have a S4+ pianocard in stock. Does anybody know how
: it compares with the original Emulator Proformance.
: The QSR favors a very good pianosound. Is it the

: know if Alesis is plannig on making this sound avail-
: able for the entire Qadrasynthfamily.

Yes! The samples on the card are just the same ones
found in the QS7/8/R. The QS6 has 8 Mb sample memory,
while the QS7, QS8 and QSR all have 16 Megs containing
the 8 Mb of the QS6 and 8 Mb used for the piano
sounds. This 8 Mb are exactly the same you get from
the card and they also include some EPs, Wurlys,
strings, pads... all the sounds that you're likely
to use along with the pianos. I played an Proformance
Plus once and though I found it to be close to a
real piano, it's not as smooth and responsive as the
Alesis Stereo Grand.
