What's also on the card is the various sounds (samples) that make up the various programs. (According to the promos: "Sampled in better-then-CD 48Khz professional sampling rates". [that's my David Bryce imitation]) Most of these sounds are already accessed via the 128 programs built into Q-card. Others might be accessed by the extra banks on the CD.
You can, should you have the umption, to create your own programs in the user banks using up to 4 sounds per program. You can even mix sounds from the Q-card as well as the existing banks in a single program.)
The Alesis manual has a list of the sounds built into the QS. I don't know how to find out the sounds in the Q-cards other then just browsing via the display or a control program.
My guess is that this is probably quite a bit of the 8 meg.

Which card did you get? Have you played the demos? Found the hidden Demo yet?

: I just bought a q-card. With it came a cd which included extra *.syx banks. Each of these banks seems to be under 100 kb (including the presets for the card). Why does the card say it is 8MB? Apart from the 100kb *.syx preset bank, what else is on it? How can I get to what is on it? Can I put more on it (extra *syx banks....midi sequences etc)?
: Thanks for any answers....this may be a simple question, but I just wondered what could be done with an 8 meg card that couldnt be done with a 2 meg one.
